San Carlos, San Mateo County
San Carlos incorporated in 1925 and adopted the motto The City of Good Living. Its small airport is home to the Hiller Aviation Museum, founded by helicopter pioneer Stanley Hiller, where early flying machines and aircraft are displayed. Laurel Street, the main street, is lined with restaurants, and the hills on the west side look out across the bay.
